Part C Arts Hero

I have chosen Nick Park, I have chosen this person because he has influenced me to do animation.

The very first animation that got me interested was * Wallace and Gromit* The very first film I have seen of it, is called * Wallace and Gromit: A grand day out* I had watched this film a number of times and it had gave me an idea to make my own animations. Throughout the years I have watched Nick Parks film and short films, This has gave me new ideas on how to do animation and what standard I should be able to go to. Nick park was born in Brook field park in Preston in Lancashire.

He is the middle child, of five siblings. He was born to Mary Cecilia Ashton (born 1930)and Roger Wulstan Park (born 1925 died 2004) In 1985, he joined the staff of Aardman Animations in Bristol, where he worked as an animator on commercial products. In 1990 Nick Park worked alongside advertising agency GGK to develop a series of highly acclaimed television advertisements for the "Heat Electric" campaign.

The Creature Comforts advertisements are now regarded as among the best advertisements ever shown on British television. Wallace and Gromit shorts, The Wrong Trousers (1993) and A Close Shave (1995), followed, both winning Oscars. In September 2007, it was announced that Nick Park had been commissioned to design a bronze statue of Wallace and Gromit, which will be placed in his home town of Preston. In October 2007 it was announced that the BBC had commissioned another Wallace &
Gromit short film to be entitled Trouble at Mill.

Nick park is the creator of Wallace and Gromit and is the leader of Aardman animations, he is well known for the animated film "Chicken Run" and "Morph" Here is the main website for AARDMAN, http://www.aardman.com/ As you can see the main page is full of little Animated people that you can click on to go to different pages on the website.

Nick park also created Creature Comforts, which is animals being interviewed, this show would sometimes be on television and it lasts around 3 minutes.

Here is some software that AARDMAN have made for people to use at home, this is called "ANIMATE IT!" Its a simple animating software to use and it is easy for young children to use if they like to do stop motion. http://www.aardstore.com/*/Toys/Animate-It-Morph-Edition-Contains-I-Can-Animate-Software/1B4U01AX000?back=*%2FToys%2F#.UcBSDxyYVmg

Here is the character of one of the first animated tv shows, called "Morph" This character was completely made out of a ball of plastercine and then used the props in the background as different things lying around, and that they were useful in the making of morph.

Here are some clips of the  animations.
